examples for newbie to xbrl

Hi Jeff
Thanks for all the work you are doing with Gepsio.

I'm new to Xbrl and still trying to get my head around concepts.

I've got Gepsio installed and can load various xbrl files from Edgar, but how can I access the information using C#? Do you have any Linq to xml c# examples to show how to extract back the information. How about an overview to explain Fragments and Facts>

Thanks again, it looks like it's going to be very useful once I begin to understand xbrl.

Good suggestion! I've been meaning to put together a "How To Use Gepsio" cookbook, of sorts, containing several design patterns that will show users how to use Gepsio, with "recipes" such as:
  • Loading an XBRL instance
  • checking for document validity and conformance to the XBRL spec
  • how to find facts given their name
and many more. If you have specific suggestions on patterns that you'd like to see, please let me know and I can get them included.

In the meantime, if you have specific questions before I publish this "cookbook", please contact the project through any of the following channels:
Thanks for considering Gepsio!
